Dedicated to the memory of Victor Steven Kersey

“It is not length of life, but depth of life" - Ralph Waldo Emerson Victor Steven Kersey, 65, of Grand Island, Nebraska, passed away March 17, 2013 in Riverton, Utah. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the Canyon Lodge in Midvale Utah on March 21, 2013 at 1pm. Steve was born in Grand Island to Victor R. and Vivian on October 5, 1947. He went to high school at Pinedale High School and graduated in 1965.Following high school, his life presented with many challenges and adventures which took him to California where he worked for Ford Motor Co. and Mack Truck Corporation. He then found himself in Utah working for White Motors Corp. as the Plant Superintendent until leaping back with Ford Motor Co. working in Fleet Sales. Steve solidified his place in the automobile industry when he became a member of the prestigious Ford 300/500 Club. He was an avid sports enthusiast. In high school, he was a track, basketball and football participant. He was both the "Babe Ruth" and "Tommy Lasorda" of recreational softball. As a player he said, "I have to hit the ball out of the park, it is the only way I can get around the bases. As a coach he said, "If you get ahead by 15 runs, I will sit in the stands and shutup for the rest of the game." His opponents were quite familiar with the 5 inning mercy rule. He was a life-long member of the Masonic Order and Shriner’s International. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Victor R. and Vivian. Steve is survived by his son Aaron of Davenport, IA; daughter Kim of West Valley City, UT; sister Mary of Nebraska; sister Barbara of Colorado; brother Richard of Georgia; grandson Rodney; granddaughter Faith; and, granddaughter Crystal.
